Kevin has attended ashgrove since 1998 and has had the joy of leading the church as Senior Team Leader since January 2005. Kevin has previously pastored churches in Victoria and Brisbane and prior to coming to ashgrove, he was the Queensland State Director for the Bible Society.

Kevin is passionate about God's heart for people and the notion that the Church can be all that God wants it to be in our complex and confusing world.

On a personal note he enjoys a meal with his family (which means ten people these days), a coffee with friends, an occasional movie and every now and again getting into the surf. Kevin is married to the delightful Kerrie and together they have 4 adult children.

Lorraine Pfeffer

Team Leader - Care

(07) 3855 1977
care@ashgrove.org.au

Lorraine took up position of Team Leader - Care in September 2005. Associated with ashgrove since childhood, Lorraine has served in a variety of ministries and leadership roles over the years, including as counsellor and relationship educator from 1994 to 2005. Lorraine is a qualified Social Worker and in recent years has completed a Masters in Counselling.

Following marriage to her husband Graham, they both attended Bible College and lived and worked in Nigeria in a mission context for ten years. Graham and Lorraine have 2 adult children, Matthew and Miriam.

As a result of growing up in a ministry context and her own life experiences, Lorraine's passion is for the spiritual well-being of people in the midst of life's difficulties. She is convinced that an emphasis on the 'whole person' is vital to the health of any church and her vision is to see ashgrove becoming such a community.

Ian Walton

Ian's dream is that ashgrove is a passionate church, on fire for Jesus and equipped to understand and interact with its community. Ian contributes to this dream by being primarily responsible for training and equipping the church family.

Ian has a background in chartered accounting and travel management. Prior to commencing with ashgrove at the start of 2006, Ian studied full-time at Malyon College. In 2005 he spent a year as associate pastor at South Bank Baptist Church.

Ian is married to Olivia, for whom he declares "it was love at first sight". They have 3 young children, Isabelle, Nicholas and Caroline. They also have a much-loved cocker spaniel called Scooter.

Tash Bengtson

Tash commenced as Program Director - Youth in 2005. Immediately prior to this, she interned at ashgrove whilst completing a one year Youth Ministry Internship with Scripture Union (SU) in 2004. In addition, Tash has in excess of 8 years experience as a youth leader at ashgrove, as well as being committed and involved with local high school youth programs and SU camps. Tash is also a talented musician who taught violin and piano professionally before taking up this role. She continues to foster this love for music.

Tash is passionate about young people capturing the life that Christ has intended for them and helping them to understand what that "fullness of life" looks like. Her vision is to see young people passionate about their Maker and sharing Him with others.

Tash likes to think of herself as a jelly bean; don't be fooled by her tough exterior, on the inside is a big softy waiting to seep out.

Simon Baek

international@ashgrove.org.au

Simon (Sang- Hyun) has a passion to reach the unreached. He is fulfilling this passion by being a bridge between the international community of Brisbane and ashgrove. Having grown up in Korea and now undertaken postgraduate study at Malyon College Queensland, Simon is in a unique position to be able to work within this community.

Simon, together with his wife Seon-a and three beautiful daughters - Cara, Grace and Joanna, have attended ashgrove since 2003. During this time Simon and Seon-a have fostered their passion for people particularly through music and sport.

For a number of years, Cara has been leading our church family in corporate worship as well as heading up the music teams that contribute to the Sunday services.

Cara juggles her role at ashgrove with shifts as a midwife for Queensland Health. She is married to Ryan and together they enjoy annual trips to the snow. Cara is also known to hit the waves for an early morning surf.

It is Cara's desire to enable members of ashgrove to use their God-given gifts and abilities to serve Christ and His church.

In late 2005, Beth married Jack and in total they have 5 adult children. Life is never dull for Beth!

Beth's life experience is invaluable in her role at ashgrove. Her passion in life is to help people through difficult circumstances and draw them closer to Jesus.
