Associated with ashgrove since childhood, Lorraine has served in a variety of ministries and leadership roles over the years, including as counsellor and relationship educator from 1994 to 2005. Lorraine is a qualified Social Worker and in recent years has completed a Masters in Counselling.

Following marriage to her husband Graham, they both attended Bible College and lived and worked in Nigeria in a mission context for ten years. Graham and Lorraine have 2 adult children, Matthew and Miriam.

As a result of growing up in a ministry context and her own life experiences, Lorraine's passion is for the spiritual well-being of people in the midst of life's difficulties. She is convinced that an emphasis on the 'whole person' is vital to the health of any church and her vision is to see ashgrove becoming such a community.

Helen Murchie

Helen's natural giftings in pastoral care and administration are put to good use in her role as part of the Care Team. Working with Lorraine Pfeffer, Helen enjoys meeting new familes and assisting them to connect with others and the programs and ministries of ashgrove. She takes a particular interest in any new mums and babies plus being available to lend a helping hand as needed. You will often find Helen at Playcentre on a weekday morning and in addition to this role, Helen contributes in many ways to various other ministries around ashgrove. She is passionate about people feeling welcomed, appreciated and loved as part of our church family.

Married to Scott and mother to Jack and Rachel, Helen enjoys a good run around the streets of her neighbourhood with friends and will always say yes to a game of tennis. Phew - how does she fit it all in!

Daniel Paterson

Team Leader - Training & Youth

With a background in big churches and a wealth of experience in youth ministry Daniel has a deep passion for training leaders, preaching the gospel and teaching the Bible!

Dan and his wife Erin are currently living in the UK, where Dan is learning from the best at Oxford. In his spare time he is keen to play any sport that involves a ball and a goal (soccer, AFL & European handball), and to take down any challengers in a good game of 500. Although he hides his musical skills, Daniel loves to strum the guitar whenever he gets a quiet moment.

All these things rolled into one is what has made Daniel a great addition to the ministry team here at ashgrove and we look forward to having him back in 2013.

Stewart Beveridge

Team Leader-Mission

Stewart leads the missional team at ashgrove, with a particular emphasis on the local community. Whether it's in your neighborhood, region or further away, Stewart believes every Christian is called to missional life. His motivation is to love God and love others. Stewart's focus is to empower people with training and release them to serve in the local Ashgrove community.

Stewart is married to Sonja and father of three. They enjoy being near the water, movies and music. He loves a good book, and a quiet walk along the beach at sunset. Summer is for getting out and having fun in the surf or on a wakeboard.

Tim Sweetman

Interim Pastor/ Ministry Team Leader

Tim, along with his wife Kerri, has a heart to see the church courageously and faithfully live out its mission to see the local community and beyond transformed through Jesus. Having commenced at ashgrove mid 2010 in the areas of Kids Ministry and Pastoral Care, Tim now serves as the Interim Pastor/ Ministry Team Leader.

When he’s not around at the church, you’ll find Tim spending time with his wife and family, sitting in front of a good game of Friday night football, and cruising around in his partly restored 1968 Holden HK Kingswood Wagon. However, first on the list for Tim and Kerri, is worshipping and following Jesus in whatever He calls.

Darren Dakers

Darren is newest addition to the ministry team at ashgrove, taking oversight of Young Adults, Youth and Worship here at ashgrove.

His central passion is on leading people to embody the gospel through pastoring. He loves anything related to preaching, leadership and discipleship.

When it comes to down-time, if it involves music, hanging in parks and reading books, it's a win for him. He is also well rehearsed in 'dad-jokes' and playing ultimate frisbee.
