Why We Train
At ashgrove, we take seriously the Bible's insistence that God, the Holy Spirit has gifted each believer uniquely for their role in life (1 Cor 12:7-11). Our role is to equip believers at ashgrove to identify, develop and then ultimately use their gifts to serve the church and wider community.
Training and equipping is 'normal' for those who seek to mimic Jesus' example. In the "Great Commission" Jesus commanded us to 'go and make disciples...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
We see the Training Ministry at ashgrove as supporting the church to achieve the outcomes of our Vision to be worshipping, whole, equipped and missional people.
How We Train
At ashgrove, we have a broad network of training but our basic unit is the Life Group. We see Life Group Leaders as the principal members of the Training Team. Additionally we offer one on one mentoring and many training events through the year.

It is also the perfect place to identify, develop and exercise spiritual giftings. We believe that each of our Life groups should demonstrate aspects of worship, wholeness, equipping and mission.
It was he who gave some to be apostles...prophets...evangelists...pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature...
