What is ashgrove Community Care?
ashgrove Community Care is a response to the reality that people in our local area face crisis and hardship alone. They can feel isolated from help and support, crippled by the compounding effect of debt, and judged as failures by society.
As a church we can advocate justice and act with mercy among these hurting individuals - because that is what Jesus did and calls us to.
What does ashgrove Community Care cover?
Much of the caring and helping work Lorrie, Helen, Kevin, Stewart and others do in the local and church community is within the scope of ashgrove Community Care. This includes helping people in times of crisis, hardship, and medical support. Taking people to hospitals, specialists, and counseling services, re-fitting a front door on a pensioner's home after the original fell apart, volunteering in support of unemployed and isolated persons, welfare assistance, and food distribution - these all are examples of work done by ashgrove Community Care.
Why do we have an appeal?
So you have an opportunity to support this benevolent work through a tax deductible gift given under the umbrella of ashgrove Community Care.
Please consider supporting the Community fund as we work together to intentionally love and care for people in our local area.
What will happen with the money?
Our annual appeal allows funds given to form part of the annual budget for 2011/2012. Funds are drawn to cover costs of time and resources when our staff are involved in caring and helping for people in the church and the local community.
The staff make quarterly statements of time and resources used towards the care and help of community members, which is submitted as a total for reimbursement to church budget.
How long does the appeal run for?
The appeal runs for the month of June, so we have a few weeks to go!
Is it tax deductible?
Gifts made to ACC are tax deductable donations. Donations can be made at any time through the year and receipts are issued to donors.
How can we donate money?
- By filling in an ashgrove Community Care donation form with your credit card details. These are available from the tables at the auditorium entrance.
- By direct debit - label it 'ashgrove Community Care'. If you want a receipt be sure to inform us of your details.
