Cardboard Testimonies

You may have been wondering what the cardboard signs pinned on the right side of the stage were all about. In July, one of ashgrove's PM worship gatherings specifically celebrated baptism.  It was a night full of honesty and hope as people shared their testimonies using cardboard signs.  On one side  they expressed what life was like before they met Christ and then the card was flipped over to show what life is like now Christ is in their life. Amazing what can be communicated with just a few words. Since that original night in July, many more people have been baptised and each has added their story to the wall of cardboard signs.

Here are some of the cardboard testimonies...

Selfish --> serving others
Living without God's forgiveness --> saved by Jesus
Lost --> guided & equipped
Doing my own thing --> living in His purpose
Dark, depressed, alone -> light, laughter, love
Through Him found who I am
Complete in Christ
Ruled by others --> ruled by Jesus
Needed to be in control --> free in giving Him control
Living in fear & hatred --> living in freedom & consuming love
I felt contempt --> I feel content
Bound by pride --> freed to boast in Christ
Hurt by life --> saved by Christ
Depressed, alone, without a purpose --> joyful, never alone,  with a purpose
Searching for the meaning behind existence --> found by The One behind all existence
Loving salvation
Living in touch with God
Was lost --> now found!
Aimless & disillusioned --> Jesus gave me peace and purpose
Struggling to earn salvation --> God's grace is sufficient
Making my own path --> following in His steps
Trying to be good --> accepted just as I am
On the road to nowhere --> Jesus filling me with hope and purpose
Walking in darkness & depression --> walking in the light of His forgiveness
Lost in Sin (thief, murderer, rebel, idols, lust, proud, ashamed) --> restored, redeemed, freed by Jesus
