Do you care?

We have all known someone who needed to be cared for, whether in a crisis or just in their  every day living. Knowing what to say, what not to say and how to listen can make all the difference. Caring for others is a new course designed to equip people to more effectively provide care for those within their spheres.

Caring for others is a course for the everyday person. As Christians we are called to care and love each other.  Do you know how to? Caring for others aims to help equip people to better respond to other people - to intentionally love and care for them. Each session involves bible focus, group discussion, input, practical exercises and the opportunity to learn new skills, and an exercise to complete at home. Most importantly, each session will be fun!

The session topics include:

Me: A Caregiver?

In this session we will talk about how God is concerned for those in trouble and how you are called to help. Learn about factors that may influence your confidence and ability to help, and develop important listening skills.

Learning + Unlearning

Discover the do's and don'ts of caring. Perhaps you need to learn some new habits and unlearn some bad ones!

In times of Crisis

This session focuses on how you can help people in times of trouble. See what the bible has to say on crisis, reflect on what has helped you in your own difficulties and learn how to ask the right questions.

Caring in a Group Setting

This is a great session for anyone involved in a group setting, such as youth groups, life groups and more. Learn how to care for people by making your group safe and healthy.

The Longer Haul (Grief + Loss)

Learn how to care for people over a long time. Learn things to say to help and care as people face loss and grief, and just as importantly what not to say!

The course commences next Monday 8th August and runs for five weeks. Contact Lorraine at care@ashgrove.org.au or 3366 2066 to register.
