Eat a croissant for Cunnamulla
This week we decided to catch up with Miriam Pfeffer to learn a bit more about the upcoming Cunnamulla breakfast...
Let's start with the most important question....what's on the menu?
We will be serving a range of foods - the standard toast and cereal, as well as mini quiches/breakfast pies, bircher muesli, fresh fruits, yogurts, croissants, and a range of sweet and savoury muffins. Not to mention some great coffee!
So besides the amazing spread, why should people come to brekky?
Everyone needs to eat breakfast, Haha! Plus this is an opportunity for people to hear a lot more about the trip and why Cunnamulla mission has continued for so many years.
What will you be talking about?
We will be giving people a better insight into what the town of Cunnamulla is like. It's a chance for people to hear stories about what we've done in previous years - from running youth centered games, to serving the community as a whole with to garden and clean-up work. We will also be sharing stories about what we have seen God do. And we will of course, talk about what is planned for this year!
When do the Cunnamulla team head out?
The mission is from 25 June to 2 July. It's going to be cold!
So why do we send a team to Cunnamulla? And what do you do there?
Originally the mission focused on the youth in the town - we would run children's programs usually in the morning, afternoon and night. This allowed us to create a strong connection with the kids there. Over the years the teams have seen these kids grow up. However in the last two years there has been a shift to serve the community as more of a whole. Last year the team did a lot of work with the council doing jobs, as well as spending time at the age care home and the youth center.

How do we get tickets for the breakfast?
We will be selling tickets ($20) this coming Sunday, from a table at the back of the auditorium. You can buy them on the day, but if possible please let the team know so we can set some tickets aside.
When is it?
Next Saturday 21 May at 7.30am. So this Sunday will be your last chance to buy tickets, unless you get in contact with one of the team members.
What are your thoughts about the Cunnamulla mission?
This will be my 4thtime in Cunnamulla. It's a lot of fun! The people there are so friendly to us and it's great to hang out with the kids. It's also great for forming relationships with fellow team members. It's hard to say why I love going there but something always draws me back. For Bronte Fisher, this will be her 5th mission to Cunnamulla. She was baptised in the river there last year and loves going back because it takes you out of your element, meaning you have to completely rely on God.
