Fathers' Day

Fathers' Day 2010 was a special day for the ashgrove community as we celebrated our dads! We also had the privilege of standing alongside men in our local community.
Dads on the big screen, hearing God's Word from three of our Ministry Team Dads, celebrating with great coffee and chocolate: these were just a few of the highlights of the day.
In our AM worship gathering, worship leader Peter Miles created an unforgettably fun Fathers' Day moment (remember the A-Root-Chy-Cha chant?) and our Fuel kids honored their dads in a video.
As part of ashgrove's Vision, we want to be making a difference in the lives of our local community, living missionally as individuals and as a church community. Thanks to your generous donations, ashgrove was able to do just that this Father's Day. We made a difference in the lives of 76 men who are part of the Salvation Army residential recovery program based at 'Moonyah' Red Hill.

We packed 76 gift bags to the brim with chocolate, teabags, biscuits, and toiletry items. In excess of 500 items were donated!
Patrick Booth, part of our ashgrovecommunity and also on staff at 'Moonyah', said the gift bags made a great difference.
'There were big smiles on their faces. It was a great thing to see the joy. It makes a great difference to their day knowing people are thinking of them as they work to change their lives.'
