The girls gather again
With just over one week to go until the girls gathering for breakfast, we reminisce over last year's amazing event and decide whether this year will live up to the previous...
Last year you walked into the auditorium, and discovered it had turned pink! The ladies had done a great job of setting pretty pink tables and creating matching labels for the gourmet selection of food on offer. Everything from muffins, croissants, fruit, yoghurt and more - It was a feast!
Check out some of the photos from last year. We spent the morning eating, chatting to friends and hearing Dr Sue Colen share about her journey with breast cancer. So with such an amazing event last year, what will this year be like?
Better.
This year the girls are gathering again on Saturday 25 June at 8am to help raise funds for the homeless. There are people in our community who won't be sleeping in warm beds tonight, tomorrow night, next month or even next year. With almost half the homeless population being under 25, the ashgrove women are seeking to raise funds for the Orana Youth Shelter - which provides short term accommodation to the young homeless.
Not only will women have the opportunity to enjoy another sumptuous feast and chat to friends, but this year plan to be inspired by guest speaker Sonja Beveridge as she shares how God has used the power of connection or 'intentional relationships' to shape and mould her life. Sonja describes herself as:
A woman who loves deeply
Protects fiercely
Laughs loudly
Struggles to turn down a dare
And loves a good story
It's going to be a fabulous morning. And so I pose the question, are you girls ready to gather again?
Tickets ($20) are on sale this Sunday or from Jenny 0412 441 565 or Kerri 0421 996 039.
