sharing hope in a crisis

'When disaster strikes, the world responds to meet the physical needs of communities and people in crisis. That's important. But sometimes the greatest need is spiritual...'

'...At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we send teams of chaplains into areas ravaged by disaster to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of hurting men, women and children. We recruit and train chaplains and volunteers, and then call on them to deploy when the need arises, often at a moment's notice.' --  Franklin Graham, President BGEA

The Sharing Hope in Crisis seminar provides training in:

  • how to appropriately provide emotional and spiritual care
  • sharing God's love and comfort with people in crisis
  • how churches can develop ministry to those in crisis within their community
  • the Rapid Response Team ministry, and opportunities to serve as a volunteer chaplain.

The Rapid Response training can be applied in caring and serving roles everyday!  Its practical components will become a foundational part of ministry training for mission and evangelism teams at ashgrove, as we serve our local communities in Jesus' name.

In life, you will come across difficult situations where you need to respond positively and with compassion. This training helps to equip you to do just that. It is an opportunity to prepare - whether for  local mission opportunities like Frogs and Rainbow Beach Community Mission, or to repond to neighbours during the summer storm season.
