Unless the Lord builds the house...
(Ps 127.1)

We have been through some recent changes within the ministry team, and met this week to talk through the process of changing and planning for the future. Before long the conversation was about Jesus being first in the church - what did you expect with a room full of pastors? Seriously though, we desire to give God His way in our lives and in the church. If fact, we believe it is of first importance that we come together as God's people and seek Him. In preparing for next year, let's put a peg in the ground, so to speak. Let's gather as God's people with one purpose: to seek Him, so He builds the house.
This is going to mean humbling ourselves. It may require releasing our agenda, ego or selfish desires. Our Heavenly Father is gracious and faithful when we humble our hearts - 'a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.' (Psalm 51:17 TNIV)
Let's put everything else to one side and meet with one another before our Father in Heaven. There will be times of guided prayer, small group prayer, personal reflection and communion. Come when you can and leave when you must! We are expecting God to be present and active in the church so it is vital that we make the time to hear His voice. Looking forward to spending this time with you.
"Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain." (Psalm 127:1 NIV)
A call to prayer - Wednesday 9th November 7pm - 10pm at ashgrove.
